Bian Wenjin, a native of Shaxian County, Fujian Province, with the word Jingzhao, was born and died in a year to be examined. He once served in the inner hall, which was active in the Yongle (1403-1424) and Xuande (1426-1435) periods. He is erudite and able to write poems, is good at painting flowers and fruits, continues the painting style of Huang Quan (about 903-965) of the Five Dynasties, and integrates into the tradition of the courtyard style of the Song Dynasty. He is an important court flower and bird painter in the Ming Dynasty.
