The bluish grey jade is carved into a large lotus shaped plate with 24 petals in full bloom, and a flat lotus is carved in the center of the plate. The bottom is carved as a flat flower with three layers and eight petals. It is surrounded by broad acanthus leaves. It was a pair of jade plates with the old jade 2471, which was sent to the palace in 1768. This was the first time that Emperor Qianlong knew about jade vessels from India. Emperor Qianlong wrote poems for them and engraved them on the plate.
