Xu Ben (1335-1380), named Youwen, was born in Wu. Be able to write articles, work poems, and paint landscapes. Gao Qi, Yang Ji and Zhang Yu were called the “Four Great Men of Wuzhong”, and Gao Qi, Zhang Yu, Wang Xing and Song Ke were called the “Ten Friends of Beiguo”. He was recommended by Hongwu for seven years, and tired officials to be the commissioners in Henan.
