  • Description:
This volume has no name. Only at the end of the volume, there is a seal of “Zheng Zhong”. At the end of the volume, there is Zhuyunming (1460-1526)’s cursive Fu on the Back Red Cliff. The title of the volume is “Bingxu (1526) Dongzhong continued to write this in Pingguan Hall”. Judging by its tone, this calligraphy may not belong to this painting. The style of the whole painting is very close to Wen Zhengming, but the brushwork and color are relatively weak and lack of change, and the details are more complicated and decorative, which should not be done by Wen Zhengming. Nevertheless, the author should be closely related to his times and activity circle. The section of this volume is roughly the same as Wen Zhengming’s “The Red Cliff after Zhao Bosu”, except that two scenes are added: one is the front of the volume plus a house, which should be the snow hall in the poem “Walking from the snow hall, will belong to Lingao”, and the other is the scene of Su Shi talking with Taoists in his dream before the last section of Su Shi’s “Account opening”.
