Dong Qichang (1555-1636 AD), born in Huating, Jiangsu Province, has the name Xuanzai and the names Sibai and Xiangguang. In the seventeenth year of Wanli’s reign, he was promoted to the position of Minister of the Ministry of Rites in the fifth year of the apocalypse. His posthumous title was Wen Min. He is good at painting and calligraphy, and has a good appraisal. He has been handed down from generation to generation with many inscriptions and postscripts, and he is quite insightful.
