Description:
The overall height of this bowl is low, and it has the characteristics of open, inclined wall, shallow abdomen and small circle feet. The glaze of the whole vessel is bright and white, and only the off white fetal soil is exposed at the foot margin. It can be seen from the thickness of the rim that the carcass is extremely thin. The inner wall is surrounded by a circle of ripples near the mouth edge, while the surrounding wall is surrounded by patterned patterns. It can be seen vaguely that the twin phoenixes are intertwined with each other, with curly clouds against its background. The Ming Dynasty set up official kilns in Jingdezhen, where craftsmen produced white porcelain as thin as bodiless in the Yongle period. This kind of work is called “sweet white porcelain”. There are often carved and printed patterns on the inner wall of the ware. If the light shines on the outer wall, even the patterns on the inner wall can be seen reflecting. From the perspective of glaze, body and pattern, this bowl should be the sweet white porcelain produced by Jingdezhen kiln in Yongle years.
