Chen Hongshou (1599-1652), with the character of Zhang Hou, was named Laolian. He was born in Zhuji, Zhejiang Province. During the reign of Chongzhen, he consecrated himself to the imperial court. After the death of the Ming Dynasty, he became a monk and called himself Guichi, Fuchi and Yunmen Monks. He is good at mountains and waters, and is an outstanding worker.
