- Description:
Liu Du (about 1632-1671) said in his postscript that the painting was a copy of the Song Dynasty’s “Spring Mountain Pavilion Painting”, but it was reinterpreted in the form of a vertical axis. The whole work is based on the elegant and simple “water-soluble pigments”, such as anthocyanin and gamboge, which are carefully matched with the color conversion of different mountains. Only part of the work is decorated with “mineral pigments”, such as blue and green. Deliberately subtracted Cun lines make the rocks more delicate and beautiful.
