- Description:
Zheng Shi, whose birth and death dates are unknown. He is a member of the Ming Dynasty Painting Academy, and he is a member of the Royal Guards. The style of painting flowers and birds comes from the court flower and bird painter Lv Ji. The composition of the painting and the brush strokes of trees, rocks, flowers and birds, compared with Lvji’s “Autumn Herons and Lotus” and “Autumn Waterfowl”, show that the layout is simpler than Lv’s. However, the brushwork was not as meticulous as it was, with obvious Tetun changes, and gradually tended to the flavor of the late Zhejiang School.
