This painting was painted in the second year of Xuande, Emperor Xuanzong of the Ming Dynasty (1427). At the beginning of the year, when the old was replaced by the new, the vase in the hall was used to celebrate. The simple copper pot is decorated with ten kinds of flower materials, such as plum, orchid, camellia, narcissus, guinea pig, ganoderma lucidum, pine, cypress, persimmon and Ruyi, symbolizing perfection. The center of gravity of the vase flower is inclined to the lower part, and the upper part is led to the higher part with prunes, with the virtual and real parts corresponding. Shen Wen did learn from Bian Wenjin, a famous court flower and bird painter in the early Ming Dynasty, but there are still differences.
