At the bottom left of this axis is the inscription of Wu Bin, “The Branch Hidden Head Buddha Wu Binzhai’s Heart Worship and Writing”, with a seal. The Lord Buddha’s face is close to a long ellipse, sitting on the rock block with his hands folded and holding a rosary. The robe lines are hard and thick, forming a thick volume effect. The figure of the Lord is wrapped in bulging robes, which not only increases the sense of volume, but also adds an atmosphere of simplicity. Twisted ink lines and turquoise dots on the rock block also add ancient style. This painting is called “Ancient Buddha Sitting on a Rock” in Qing Palace Records.
