- Description:
The old label of this volume is “Genuine Works of Flowers and Birds of the Emperor Xuanzong of the Ming Dynasty”. It uses ink painting to draw a pair of flowers, trees, spring stones and birds. The petals are dyed in circles to highlight the pure white. The leaves are dyed with fine strokes to draw veins. The whole painting is between work and writing. It has a regular script of “Xuande Imperial System” and a seal of “Wuying Palace Treasure”. However, the style of painting, calligraphy or seal is different from other Xuanzong calligraphy and painting works. The stamp of Xiang Yuanbian (1525-1590) on the picture, and the postscript of the late Ming Dynasty Shenshixing (1535-1614) and Huayun (1488-1560) are false sustenance. It should be imitated by painters in the early Qing Dynasty.
