  • Description:
Wen Zhengming’s long axis paintings like mountains and rocks stacked on top of each other to form a fine and solemn mountain. Although Wen Biren’s “After Autumn, the brooks and mountains” are long and narrow, the trees in the painting do not focus on showing the towering, but use the angle of overlooking to show the depth. Cezhang Gaoshi crossed the arc-shaped stone bridge with a rectangular bridge column base, and then walked along the zigzag path along the stream to the side of the grass house where the hermit was resting on his bed. If you go further, you can stand next to two towering pine trees and look at the calm pool, the columnar rocks on the opposite bank, and the distant mountains standing on the thick clouds. This picture was painted in the year of Ding Wei in Jiajing (1547). Although it belongs to Wen Biren’s early work, it is a masterpiece that has developed its own features.
