  Shen Zhou (1427-1509 AD) was born in Changzhou (now Suzhou, Jiangsu). It is named Qinan, Shitian, and Baishiweng. He was brilliant when he was young. He was not only good at poetry and calligraphy, but also proficient in painting. He was one of the four masters of the Ming Dynasty. This work is a copy of Xia Gui’s “clear mountain stream” when Shen Zhou was 67 years old in the year of Guichou in Hongzhi (1493).
