Sun Long (15th century AD) was born in Piling, Jiangsu Province. He served in the imperial court during Xuande’s reign and was good at painting flowers, birds, grass and insects. Although the technique of painting with ink and color is inherited from the “Mogu” style of the Northern Song Dynasty, it has its own characteristics.
