- Description:
The mouth of the bottle has a straight neck and shoulders, a long and large abdomen, a wide upper part and a narrow lower part. The shin is turned outward to the bottom, and the lower part is connected with a straight round foot. The patterns on the surface of the utensil are arranged in layers. The outside of the neck is surrounded by banana leaves and pointed leaves. The shoulders are decorated with Ruyi cloud heads and flowers are painted inside. The main pattern on the abdomen is the pine forest double deer, one looks back, one moves forward, and the front and back correspond. The shin is painted with a circle of twig flowers, and the lower part is the ripple pattern of the seahorse. The bottom is glazed, and the foot is exposed at the ground. Compared with most of the works in Wanli period, which used cobalt to dye the deep and light colors of decorative patterns, this article depicts patterns with dots and lines. This kind of technique is even called Penciled style by western scholars, or it can be seen as a new style derived from the changes of deep and shallow levels. Works of similar style can also be found in the collection of the British Museum and the White Lion (Witte Leeuw: 1613) Ha
