- Description:
Lan Ying (after 1585-1664), born in Qiantang, Zhejiang Province, has the name Tian Shu and the name Diesou. When I was young, I copied various schools of thought in the Song and Yuan Dynasties. Although the lines and moss spots on the rocks are not dense, this painting depicts the interest of Wang Meng’s rock disturbance; Xiao Shu’s trees and the solitary pavilion across the water create a quiet atmosphere in Ni Zan’s (1301-1374) paintings. In the painting, the flowing stream described in three simple strokes and the thatched pavilion cover avoiding the crooked tree trunk are confident and lovely, which is a masterpiece.
