• Description:
  The phoenix tail bottle has a trumpet shaped mouth, a long neck, a round shoulder, a tight abdomen, and double ribs under the shin. The outer wall is decorated with flowers. There are four convex strings at the lower part of the mouth, and the lower part is connected with long banana leaves. The belly is wrapped with a lotus pattern, and the lower part has a lotus petal pattern. The foot ring is cut obliquely. The foot ring has no glaze, and the bottom is obviously made of the last glaze and another clay plate. Since the late 16th century, the literati in Jiangnan region gradually incorporated flower art and vase into their daily life, not only creating an elegant atmosphere, but also appreciating vases. According to Wen Zhenheng, the higher Longquan kiln bottle is suitable for inserting plum blossoms.
