  • Dynasty: Ming dynasty
  • Category: Jades
  • Function: Container
  • Material: Minerals/Jade Jewelry/Jade
  • Description:
This is a clean sapphire carved into a clam shell. A lotus flower in full bloom is embossed at the bottom of the vessel, and the edge of the petals is slightly rolled, which is vivid and natural. From the outer wall of the inner curved handle end, the thin and long leaf patterns are embossed, and the tip extensions on both sides are curled to form the handle. Dr. Stephen Markel, the director of the Los Angeles Art Museum, once speculated that this jade ware and the famous jade cup engraved with the famous money of Shajiahan came from the same workshop.
