The short sword handle is made of blue and white jade. Its surface is carved with flowers and leaves. It should be connected with a sharp metal short sword, which is a carry on weapon often inserted on the belt by the Mongolian warriors. However, according to the Work File, the metal blades of such weapons are removed and melted after they enter the palace, and the jade handle can be used to make blades and scabbards.
