  Twenty four filial piety stories have been drawn in the Northern Song Dynasty, and the system published in Diary Stories, a book and magazine published by Tong Meng, became popular in the late Wanli period, including Yu Shun, Han Emperor Wen, Zeng Shen, Min Shi, Zhong You, Dong Yong, Shanzi, Jiang Ge, Lu Ji, Madam Tang (Cui Shannan), Wu Meng, Wang Xiang, Guo Ju, Yang Xiang, Zhu Shouchang, Yu Qianlou, Lao Laizi, Cai Shun, Huang Xiang, Jiang Shi, Wang Fu, Ding Lan, Menzong, and Huang Tingjian. The two sets of filial piety story albums in this exhibition are very similar in images. The picture on the right and the text on the left are also named Qiu Ying. However, the color design and character modeling are not Qiu Ying’s style. The Twenty four Paintings of Filial Piety has a warm color and the characters’ open faces and hairstyles, which are more recent in the late Ming Dynasty, while the figures in the Painting of Pure Filial Piety have slightly distorted, and the highlights of the characters’ open faces are obvious, showing more Qing Dynasty styles.
