The scroll painting “The Book of Filial Piety” consists of 18 chapters and 18 paragraphs. Wen Zhengming (1470-1559) wrote regular script scriptures below. According to the postscript of Wen’s Jiajing Bingwu (1546) in February, this work imitates the work of Wang Duan (about 1004-1023) of the Northern Song Dynasty. As the Tibetan “Guoguang” has repeatedly shown it to record scriptures, it can be seen that the painting was painted before February of the third noon. This collector may refer to Wang Laibin (after 1509-1550), a famous doctor in Wu, who was named Guoguang and Yutian.
