Zhang Bi (1425-1487 AD), a native of Huating (now Shanghai), Songjiang, was a representative calligrapher of Yunjian Calligraphy School in the Ming Dynasty. He was born as a scholar and once served as the governor of the Jiangxinan Prefecture. He was honest and frank. He often expressed his feeling of being worried about the country in poetry and prose. His cursive script was also free and uninhibited, without false embellishment.
