The outer edge of the utensil is in a circle of grass green color, and yellow dot patterns are painted on it. The regular script of “Zhengde Year” is printed in black color. With peacock blue as the ground, it is painted with ten branches of crocus with yellow, purple and green colors. Near the bottom, there is a layer of purple flowers and a layer of green lotus petals, with white bodies exposed at the bottom. The patterns are made of underglaze carved flowers, which are fired at high temperature, and then filled with color at low temperature. Only red color is not used, so it is called “plain tricolor”. It is a new glaze color created in Zhengde period of the Ming Dynasty.
