  • Description:
The red sandalwood is carved with a ganoderma lucidum shaped shallow plate, with its edges rolled up. The plate surface is carved with several shallow edges, such as ganoderma lucidum texture. The foot circle at the bottom of the tray is embossed with glossy ganoderma lucidum and bamboo branches. The center of the tray is carved with regular script of “Wu Xia Zhu Ying System” and red ink seal of “Xiao Song”. Zhu Xiaosong is a famous bamboo carver in Jiajing and Wanli of the Ming Dynasty. The inscriptions of Tulong (1542-1605), a scholar in the late Ming Dynasty, are engraved on the bottom of the plate, which shows that this wooden carving plate was originally a bearing plate for Zhu Bishan, a famous scholar in the late Yuan Dynasty. Famous experts are responsible for allocating famous experts’ bank branches to complement each other. Whether this plate was really carved by Zhu Xiaosong remains to be further verified, but with the essence of material selection and simple lines, it is truly a masterpiece of wood carving and cultural games.
