Wen Zhengming (1470-1559 AD) was born in Changzhou, Jiangsu Province. At the age of fifty-four, he went to Beijing as a tribute at the age of fifty-four. He served in the Imperial Academy for imperial edicts and participated in the writing of the True Record of Wuzong. Later, he resigned his office and returned to his hometown, devoted himself to performing arts, and died at the age of ninety. He had profound attainments in poetry, calligraphy and painting, and was the leader of Suzhou art world in the middle of the Ming Dynasty.
