Ouyang Xiu’s two letters were collected by Chen Gang, Chen Yi’s father (1469-1538). Zhu Yunming wrote this postscript from Chen Yi. The postscript is written in small regular script, with fine and beautiful strokes and neat and elegant knots. The style is biased towards Wang Xizhi and Zhao Mengfu. In addition to Suzhou cultural circle, Zhu Yunming also had a deep friendship with Jinling scholars Chen Yi, Gu Lin, Xu Lin, and calligraphy and painting collector Huang Lin. In 1503, he and Yang Xunji were invited to Huang Lin’s home to write a postscript to “Zhao Family’s A Book of Dharma” with Zhao’s style of calligraphy, and wrote about “The talent of fireworks cave”.
