- Description:
This utensil is decorated with a pattern of morning glory. The two sides of the long neck are decorated with animal shaped ears, and the body is made of polyhedron. Beast ears are often seen as decorative themes on bronze ware, while the body imitated from Islamic metal ware represents the process of communication between China and West Asia in the 15th century. In the 18th century, the Italian missionary painter Lang Shining once drew a similar vase in “Painting Vase Flowers”, which showed the situation that the Qing Palace used antique vases to make soy sauce.
