This axis has towering peaks, winding clouds on the mountainside, and scattered houses at the foot of the mountain. The prospect slope is long and green, and the river is vast. A scholar is leisurely in a boat, free and carefree, and the artistic conception is quiet. The pen and ink are beautiful and embellished, with a literary atmosphere. This axis does not have the author’s stamp, nor does it have the seal of receiving biography and the seal of the Qing Palace. Dong Qichang identified it as the authentic work of Zhao Zhongmu. According to the seal of “Master Zongbo” stamped by Dong’s family after the postscript, the time of examination and approval should be after he was sixty-nine years old and served as a waiter in the Ministry of Rites and a bachelor.
