- Description:
The jade roof is covered with wood. The jade top is bluish white and yellow. The patterns of egrets in the lotus pond are made by multi-level openwork technique. The top part is dominated by lotus leaves and flowers. Under the leaves where egrets inhabit, lotus leaves and lotus stems interweave into a complex space, which shows its design intention. However, the bottom several curved leaves seem to reveal a sense of formality, which may be the production of the Ming Dynasty following the earlier jade top motif. At present, it is the jade top of the hospital collection of the “official style double ear milk ding tripod stove” (so porcelain 014088).
