- Description:
Li Yi (1245-1320), a scholar of the early Yuan Dynasty who came from Hebei Province, became a minister of the Ministry of Officials in the first year of Emperor Zong Huangqing (1312) of Yuanren. He paid homage to the great scholar Jixian and was respected by the same dynasty as Zhao Mengfu and others. Li Kuan is good at painting bamboo and stone, and has published bamboo manuscripts, creating a new trend of painting bamboo in the Mongolian and Yuan Dynasties. This axis draws four bamboo poles on the slope on one side of the mountain stone. Its roots are arranged at random in space. The painter also uses dark and light ink to express the relationship between the bamboo leaves. The picture is dense and the branches are interlaced, forming a gorgeous and dazzling visual effect. It is said that Li Yan once went on an emissary to make friends, so he can see the thousands of gestures of real bamboos, and his paintings are beyond the ancients.
