Gao Kegong, who was originally of the Hui nationality, was a pioneer of non Han scholars who participated in the creation of Chinese calligraphy and painting. He began to learn painting when he was 42 years old in the south. Southern scholar bureaucrats such as Zhao Mengfu may have given guidance, but Li Li, a native of the north, may be a more important teacher. This painting has Li Bing’s comments, praising that his paintings have no early shortcomings.
