It is decorated beneath a matte blue-white glaze in underglaze blue with a three-clawed dragon with bared teeth, pursuing a flaming pearl among ruyi clouds. Below this is a band of brackets above eight stylized lotus lappets framing ruyi swirls with large and small spheres. The base is glazed.

Comments:Harrison-Hall 2001:Such bottles were exported to southeast Asia in large quantities during the Yuan period. This example was found in Indonesia. The quality of painting of the dragon is inferior to that used on other products made with similar designs for the domestic market. However, the ‘heaped and piled’ appearance of the cobalt-blue pigment beneath the glaze is typical of the Yuan dynasty.
