Porcelain wine pot of cylindrical shape with horinzontal ribs simulating bamboo, and spout and handle similarly treated. Painted in underglaze blue and overglaze red, green, aubergine and black enamels with birds, plants and rocks. Base glazed.

In the early Qing dynasty (AD 1644–1720) although there is a 青花五彩(qinghuawucai ‘blue and white five colours’) style mostly designs were made without the underglaze blue in a reduced palette using watercolour-like translucent enamels.
