- Description:
Bin, located in the north of Qishan Mountain, is the place where the ancestors of Zhou Dynasty founded their country. It is said that King Cheng (? – 1021 BC) succeeded to the throne when he was young, and Duke Zhou (? – 1032 BC) was regent. In order to make King Cheng understand that farming and mulberry are the top political and religious affairs, and care about the people’s life in the four seasons, he made a Bin Feng to tell the ancestors of Zhou Dynasty, Hou Ji and Gong Liu, that farming is important. This volume is the longest one among the fifteen national customs in the Book of Songs compiled by Confucius. It is written from the beginning of farming to the end of farming, first about food and clothing, then about farming and sericulture, and finally about hunting and autumn harvest and winter storage. It has eight sections in total. The whole volume is green and green, and each section is accompanied by the original text. Both the old title and the postscript are believed to be the works of Wang Zhenpeng (active in the first half of the 14th century) and Ke Jiusi (1290-1343) of the Yuan Dynasty. However, the influence of Qiu Ying (about 1494-1552) of the Ming Dynasty has been seen in the paintings. It is speculated that they should be the works of Suzhou after the 16th century.
