- Description:
It is known from the postscript of Wang Feng (1319-1388) that Huang Gongwang wrote the Jade of Jiuzhu Peak for Yang Weizhen (Yang Weizhen, Taoist priest of Tieya, 1296-1370). Yang Weizhen wrote his own title on the painting. The screen is surrounded by a gentle slope valley in the front, with several houses looming in it, adding a lot of vitality. Huang Gongwang’s landscape is characterized by the combination of mountains and rocks and mountain top platforms in the painting to create a dynamic mountain. Between the peaks and edges, there are short lines of ink dots forming distant trees, which can fully highlight the growth and prosperity of vegetation. This scene in the painting is speculated to be Yang Weizhen’s residence in the cloud area.
