Comments:Harrison-Hall 2001:The vase is related in form to contemporary Yuan bronze altar vases. Porcelain vases with similar handles and mounted on pedestal bases were recovered from the Sinan shipwreck of 1323. Possibly it was made to fit inside a shrine; its small size would render it unsuitable for a large altar.
