Description:
These two fragments (and MAS.941) are from the same textile, a dark blue damask on plain weave with a pattern of concentric diamonds, repeated 0.8 cm in the warp direction and 0.8 cm in the weft direction. A selvedge, 0.6 cm wide, woven in plain weave, remains on one side of MAS.940. Weave structures: Warp: silk, untwisted, single, dark blue, 54 ends/cm; Weft: silk, untwisted, single, dark blue, 48 lats/cm. Weave structure: 3/1Z twill for pattern on 1/1 plain weave for foundation. 長方形暗花綺殘片，深藍色，同心菱格紋樣，圖案經向循環爲0.8cm，緯向爲0.8cm，織物表面有明顯的錯織現象。一側留有寬約0.6cm的幅邊，以平紋組織織成。組織與圖案完全相同的還有MAS.941。 組織結構： 經線：絲，無撚，單根排列，深藍色，54根/cm；緯線：絲，無撚，單根排列，深藍色，48根/cm；組織：1/1平紋地上以3/1Z向斜紋組織顯花。
