Description:
This fragment of Liao samite, compound twill weft-faced on both sides, has roundels interspersed with quatrefoils. Dark blue has been used for the ground, while pale red, white, yellow and green make up the pattern, with repeats of 14.3 cm in the weft direction. Weave structures: Inner warp: silk, untwisted, single, pale red, 16 ends/cm; Binding warp: silk, untwisted, single, pale red, 16 ends/cm; Weft: silk, untwisted, l dark blue for the ground, pale red, white, yellow and green for the pattern, 17 passes/cm. Weave structure: 1/2Z compound twill weft-faced on both sides. 遼式斜紋緯錦殘片。以深藍色緯線作地，其上以白、粉紅、黃、綠四色緯線顯花，由於織物保留下來的面積不大，現僅可見團窠外圈，但團窠之間的十字賓花裝飾較爲完整，圖案緯向循環爲14.3cm。 組織結構： 經線：明經：絲，無撚，單根排列，淡紅色，16根/cm；夾經：絲，無撚，單根排列，淡紅色，16根/cm；緯線：絲，無撚，藍、白、粉紅、黃、綠色，17套/cm；組織：1/2Z向遼式斜紋緯重組織。
