Description:
A wool fragment with a selvage on one side. The whole fragment consists of three sections, from the top to the bottom, one in 18cm long with brown and yellow strips, woven in 2/2 weft rib weave; one in 2cm in the middle, all brown wefts in 2/2 twill, and the other in 9cm on bottom, with all yellow wefts in 2/2 twill. It is very unusual to use different weaves in one fabric. Weave structures: a. Strips Warp: wool, Z twisted, paired, yellow or undyed, 4 pairs/cm; Weft: wool, S twisted, one yellow and one dark brown, single, 22 lats/cm. Weave structure: 2/2 weft rib plain weave. b. Brown twill Warp: wool, Z twisted, single, yellow or undyed, 8 ends/cm; Weft: wool, S twisted, dark brown, single, 16 lats/cm. Weave structure: 2/2 twill. c. Yellow twill Warp: wool, Z twisted, single, yellow or undyed, 8 ends/cm; Weft: wool, S twisted, yellow or undyed, single, 20 lats/cm. Weave structure: 2/2 twill. 毛織物殘片，一側爲幅邊。整件殘片還保存有三個部分，由上到下第一部分長11cm，爲褐色和黃色相間形成的條紋，以緯重平織成；中間一段長爲2cm的褐色斜紋；再下面是9cm長的黃色斜紋。這種一件織物上織有不同組織的織物極爲罕見。 組織結構： a. 條子紋： 經線：毛，Z撚，雙根排列，黃色或本色，4雙/cm；緯線：毛，S撚，一根黃色一根褐色間隔排列，22根/cm；組織：2/2緯重平組織。 b. 褐橫條紋： 經線：毛，Z撚，單根排列，黃色或本色，8根/cm；緯線：毛，S撚，褐色，16根/cm；組織：2/2斜紋。 c. 黃色斜紋： 經線：毛，Z撚，單根排列，黃色或本色，8根/cm；緯線：毛，S撚，黃色或本色，20-根/cm；組織：2/2斜紋。
