Description:
This narrow triangular shaped fragment of patterned silk gauze has a selvedge of 0.6 cm. The weave is a simple gauze, with the doup ends crossing the fixed ends symmetrically, while in the pattern area, the doup ends float above the fixed ends, woven in a 1/1 plain weave. The repeat is 13 cm in both the weft and the warp directions. The pattern has a medallion made up of ruyi within a lozenge grid made of swastikas. The pattern was reconstructed by F.H. Andrews and published by Stein. Weave structures: Warp: silk, untwisted, single, purple, 26 ends/cm; Weft: silk, untwisted, single but thick, purple, 12 lats/cm; Weave structure: ground: 1:1 doup warp crossing fixed warp in one direction; pattern: floating of doup warp on fixed warp. 暗花紗殘片，近似三角形，其中一邊爲0.9cm的幅邊。地部由絞經和地經對稱絞織而成，花部絞經經浮，而地經與緯線交織成平紋，屬於簡單紗羅類。圖案中心是一個有如意紋組成的團花，外有卍字紋組成的方格。這一圖案由斯坦因基本復原，圖案經向和緯向循環均約爲13cm。 組織結構： 經線：絲，無撚，單根排列，紫色，26根/cm；緯線：絲，無撚，四至五根排列，紫色，12根/cm；組織：地部，1:1對稱順絞轉；紋部：絞經浮於地經之上。
