Description:
Western-style teapot with a small foot, broad shoulder, spout, integral angular handle and original domed cover and fan-like knob. Made in porcelain decorated with a transfer-print, hand painted in coloured enamels with a man and a beautiful woman. He looks over his left shoulder at her; she gestures to the palace over which a full moon is rising. On the other side is a transfer-print, in coloured enamels, with fish leaping in the waves and a palace hall in the background. Gold lines round the cover, collar, spout and down the handle. Base glazed with a pale seal.
