Description:
Carved ivory table screen. One one side is carved with Zhang Liang, a strategist and statesman of the early Han dynasty, with an assassin on one side. On the other side of the screen is a poetic inscription and seals. The figures and calligraphy are emphasised with green staining.

Comments:The image and the inscription refer to the assassination of Qin Shihuangdi led by Zhang Liang in 218BC. The mission failed but both Zhang Liang and the assassin escaped.
