Description:
Carved ivory table screen, with two standing figures from Shuihuzhuan (Water Margin). Gongsun Sheng is depicted holding a cup in one hand and a magic sword in the other while Li Kui is holding an axe. On the other side is an inscription taken from a poem by Cao Tang (act. 9thC) about Queen Mother of the West visiting Emperor Wu of Han. Both images and inscription were rubbed with black ink.
