Porcelain stem cup with underglaze blue decoration and iron-brown rim. This stem cup has a deep rounded bowl everted at the rim, a tall stem with a horizontal rib just below the bowl and a flared foot with a stepped edge. Inside the foot is unglazed.

Comments:Harrison-Hall 2001:Late Ming ‘min yao’ stem cups are modelled with stockier forms than their earlier counterparts. The brown rim is also typical of porcelains made in the last two decades of the Ming era. It suggests that the porcelain is bound in metal, thus enhancing its status.
