- Description:
This is the only painted landscape axis by Ni Zan (1301-1374) in the courtyard collection. The current style of pool mounting was modified in the period of Emperor Gaozong (1735-1796) of the Qing Dynasty. It belongs to the tricolor imitation Song mounting. The ivory axle head is decorated below it, and the color is simple and elegant. There are three sections in the Shitang. In addition to the early era of the square Shitang, which is close to the heart of painting, the jade pond and the hanging damask each have a round fan style and a horizontal long square Shitang, which were added in the Qing Dynasty. In the whole picture, Zhang Yu, Wu Rui, Yuan Hua, Lu Yong, Zhou Nanlao, etc. are the people who wrote the inscription and postscript, which are very rare among the vertical axes in the Forbidden City.
