Avalokitesvara is the chief of all Buddhists. In the Tang Dynasty, because of avoiding the taboo of Emperor Taizong Li Shimin, the word “world” was abbreviated as Guanyin. In Journey to the West, Guanyin Bodhisattva plays an important role, with a special role in structure. From taking part in the capture of the Monkey King, to looking for scripture seekers, or setting obstacles to try Zen, or collecting demons to help the westward journey, the whole book runs through. From the 24th to the 26th chapters in the novel, Sun Wukong was unable to escape because he ate the ginseng fruit of Zhenyuan Immortal secretly and pushed down the fruit tree. Lai Guanyin saved the fruit tree with the poplar branch nectar in the bottle, and then got rid of the trouble.
