Description:
Rectangular seal case made of carved wood. The centre is hollowed out and three grooves have been sawn into two opposing sides. These were meant to hold the string which kept the seal in place.It is also preserved.

Comments:Stein, Serindia, pp. 668, 771, 775: “T.XII.a.005-0011. Seven wooden seal-cases; 005-0010, type A; 0011, type C; see T.VIII.5. 009 is 1 3/8 inch deep and has groove 5/8 inch x ½ inch cut across under side. Average measurements 1 ¾ inch x 1 ½ inch x 5/8 inch. 006, 009, Pl.LIII.”
