- Description:
This foreground painting is along the waterside pavilion, and the middle view is surrounded by hills. A mountain path leads to the temple in the forest. There are several peaks in the foreground, and white clouds linger in the mountains. Many of the rocks are green, and the clouds are decorated with white powder. It looks like the mountains are green, the water is beautiful, and the clouds are cool and dewy. All the characters are dressed in white, like fairies wandering in a fairyland. The old title was written by Sheng Mao of the Yuan Dynasty (about the 14th century AD). However, in terms of the way of depicting people and pavilions, the method of texturing mountains and rocks, and the space management, it is closer to Xie Shichen’s (1487-1567) style, and should be a masterpiece in the middle of the Ming Dynasty.
