“Shi De” was a monk in the Guoqing Temple of Tiantai in the Zhenguan Temple of Tang Dynasty, and was picked up and raised by his teacher, Zen Master Fenggan, hence the name. He is friendly to Han Shan, the eminent monk of the day, and is crazy and fond of chanting poems and verses. It is said that Taizhou Shoubei wanted to visit him personally. They went away with a smile and pride.
